STATUS AWARD, April 12, 2010, Rijeka, Stereo Hall
Status: an award for supreme skills and talent in playing
Since 1997, Croatian Musicians Union has been awarding the Status award for the best instrumentalist. This year, the award counts 14th anniversary. Numerous nominated instrumentalist have been in race this year, all regular members of the Union. They all have published their own records or have been guests at other performers titles.
Musician of the year: This year's Status award winners have been choosing the Best Instrumentalist, a colleague who in their belief marked the last year in his/her talent and skills. After the 2007 winner, guitar player Elvis Penava, and 2008 winner, drummer Branimir Gazdik, this year's winner is Zagorje's blues master Tomislav Goluban (harp). He has been pronounced the 2009 Best Instrumentalist, according to the votes of the colleague musicians at the 14th Status award ceremony.
